Feed your soil. Grow stronger roots.

Our 110g Small Garden Pouch is the simplest way to try Rich Roots Mealworm Frass Fertiliser before moving to a larger garden-size pouch.

Made from 100% natural mealworm frass — the nutrient-rich castings left by mealworms — this eco-friendly soil amendment helps feed the living soil around your plants. It contains naturally occurring nutrients, organic matter, beneficial biology, natural chitin and a lab-tested carbon content of 38.5%.

This size is perfect if you are just getting started, caring for a few pot plants, growing herbs on a balcony, or looking for a compact pouch that is easy to store and use as needed. It is also a great add-on for plant gifts, market purchases, starter gardening kits, herb pots and small space growers.

Best for

  • First-time frass users
  • Indoor and outdoor pot plants
  • Herbs and small edible plants
  • Balcony gardens and courtyards
  • Small veggie pots
  • Plant parents who want a simple natural fertiliser
  • Anyone who wants to trial Rich Roots before buying a larger pouch

Use it as part of your regular garden rhythm: sprinkle, mix lightly into the soil, water in, and let the soil biology do the work.

Why plants love it

Rich Roots Mealworm Frass Fertiliser helps support:

  • Healthy soil biology
  • Stronger root zone activity
  • Slow, natural nutrient release
  • Better soil structure over time
  • More active living soil
  • Regular plant growth and resilience

Mealworm frass also contains naturally occurring chitin, which may help support plants’ natural defence response as part of a healthy soil ecosystem.

Lab-tested nutrient profile

Our mealworm frass fertiliser has been independently tested for key nutrients and soil-relevant properties.

How to use

For established plants, sprinkle frass around the base of the plant, gently mix into the top layer of soil, and water in well.

As a simple guide:

  • Small pots: 1–2 teaspoons
  • Medium pots: around 1 tablespoon
  • Larger pots: 1–2 tablespoons
  • Garden beds: sprinkle lightly around the root zone and water in
  • New planting: mix a small amount through the planting area before watering

Reapply every 2–4 weeks during active growing periods, or as needed based on plant size, season and soil condition.

Application tips

A little goes a long way. For best results:

  • Water in after applying
  • Avoid direct contact with delicate stems
  • Use less around seedlings or sensitive plants
  • Start lightly and increase gradually if needed
  • Store sealed between uses to keep the product dry and fresh
