Who is Rich Roots?

A Brisbane-grown team of plant friends crafting mess-free, all-natural insect fertilisers from mealworm frass supplied by our co-located partner farm in Queensland, Australia. It’s the easy, sustainable swap your indoor pots, container gardens, hanging baskets, raised beds, lawn (sports turf) and veggie patches both wants and needs.

What is Mealworm Frass?

Frass is the nutrient-rich by-product of mealworms – think of it as nature’s micro-fine compost, packed with nitrogen, chitin and beneficial microbes that boost root growth and plant resilience.

How do I use it on my plants?

Simply sprinkle 1–2 teaspoons per 10 cm of pot diameter every month, then water as usual. For liquid feeding, steep a tablespoon in a litre of water overnight, strain, and drench or mist.

Is it safe for kids, pets, and edible plants (e.g. herbs, veggies, fruits)?

Yes! Our frass is 100 % natural, chemical-free and screened for pathogens, so it’s safe around curious kids, furry friends, and anything you plan to eat.
